Wim Theuvebnet asked me (LML, August 30, 2016) that when a significant nerve function loss was found, what was the subsequent plan of action? Was any nerve decompression done to restore function and if so, what were the results?
If we see demyelination with small amount of axonal loss we use to treat with steroid, if it doesn´t improve as was our expectation it goes to nerve decompression. With nerve conduction, we can show if the treatment is available or not. If we see pronounced axonal lesion, the prognosis is pour and treatment may be innocuous.
But I have a question to you also. When do you extend the tibial decompression to distal portion, that is, to lateral plantar nerve in the middle foot?
